Three-Dimensional Design
The three-dimensional projects below are created with either traditional tools such as ball point pens, markers and pencils, or with software programs such as Autodesk Inventor, Maya, and 3ds MAX. These are “mini projects” to learn basic tools of 3D modeling, and most of them are pretty simple and “abstract”. For more challenging projects with greater complexity and more obvious meaning connected to the real-world, please visit The Monument of the Manchu Nation, The Monument of the Machine Age, The Flower of the Manchu Eight Banners and The Magic Stony Characters projects.

Free Hand Sketches
The Garden of Geometric Harmony (Autodesk Inventor)
The Undulating Mountain and River Projects (SolidWorks)
The Little Playground (3ds MAX)
The 3D project below are created in Autodesk 3ds MAX as an opportunity to learn the basic tools of 3D object polygon modeling. Screen shots of the models are made and pasted into Photoshop, the blank backgrounds are deleted and the images of the 3D models are combined with new background images of river and mountain.
Decorative Items (3ds MAX)
The 3D projects below are created in Autodesk 3ds MAX. Screen shots of the models are made and pasted into Photoshop, the blank backgrounds are deleted and the images of the 3D models are combined with new background images of metal plates, marble, sky, lawn, and others to make quick illustrations.
